System Operator

About the role

Symbotic is currently seeking an Automation System Operator to join our team. This role involves monitoring and troubleshooting an automated material handling system, ensuring system performance and availability, and collaborating with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer processes.
• Maintain system performance and availability of personnel and automated robotic vehicles.
• Schedule and produce orders, and receive inventory.
• Troubleshoot system stoppages and escalate complex issues.
• Communicate and troubleshoot software issues with off-site engineers and on-site management.
• Operate system via custom GUI.
• Coordinate system maintenance with maintenance personnel and Automation Manager.
• Document major events and become an on-site software expert.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairs of equipment as needed.
• Communicate with tier support to drive system production.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in a computer or automation environment.
• Ability to direct and guide employees.
• Effective communication skills.
• A desire to learn new equipment and assist team members.
• Positive response to critical feedback and recognition.
• Ability to multitask and perform multiple job functions simultaneously.
• A high sense of urgency.
• Literate in English.

Qualifications

• Capable of working in extreme temperatures (105°F to 32°F).
• Frequent ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 80 lbs.
• Standing/walking for up to 10-12 hours.
• Working at heights up to 45 feet and within restricted areas.
• Performing tasks requiring hand and foot dexterity.
• Complying with safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay

The base range for this position in the posted location is $24.50 - $30.00 per hour. The actual salary offered may vary based on qualifications and experience.

The schedule for this role is typically full-time, with occasional overtime as needed.
