About Us

Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) National Team (NT) at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.

As leader of the C2BMC team, Lockheed Martin directs a partnership of highly responsive industry leaders developing and fielding the backbone of America’s missile defense. Together, this national team supports the design, development, test, integration, and fielding of hardware and software elements that enable the Missile Defense System (MDS) to function effectively and continually. As a C2BMC National Team member, you will have the opportunity to interface with our key customers in the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and collaborate with a team of technical professionals including software and systems engineers, architects, and our project engineering team.

About the Role

The System Operator will support the C2BMC System Test & Integration group configuring and running C2BMC systems, servers, and other components during ground tests in an HWIL environment and eventually the Operational environment. The collection and staging of data will also be performed in coordination with the System Test Data Manager. Ideally, in parallel, the candidate will become knowledgeable in the architecture, network, and data flows of the complex C2BMC system and its interoperability with other Missile Defense System sensors, shooters, and elements, providing an opportunity to evolve into a System Integrator.

The Integration group is responsible for ensuring systems are successfully integrated prior to test events or operational fielding.

Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates, and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system-level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems, and systems.

This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level. It is located at Schriever Space Force Base, 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO, and is 100% onsite. Non-standard work hours may be required on occasion, depending on test or fielding schedules. This position may require travel to fielded sites as well as National Team locations (e.g., Huntsville, HWY83).
