About The Role

Mechanical Engineering Contract Engineer
Location: Kato (with occasional travel to Clawiter required)
**Full-time, on-site position (5 days/week)

Requirements

  • Strong Ignition Vision and Perspective module programming experience
  • Manufacturing plant floor in-person support experience
  • Basic knowledge on the integration of Ignition with PLC using Kepware through OPC UA servers
  • Experience in integrating web service calls

Responsibilities

  • Work with manufacturing engineers to develop and implement Ignition-based systems to support manufacturing line requirements
  • Work with process and manufacturing engineers to develop and implement software programs for automation systems and equipment that are used in the production
  • Develop software for engineering tools to support production activities
  • Provide on-site support for manufacturing production lines to resolve any manufacturing systems related issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area in Computer Science and/or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in SCADA system usage in a manufacturing environment (requirements analysis, design definition, software development, and solutions implementation)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in implementing SCADA systems with in-depth experience with the Inductive Automation Ignition software platform and strong programming skills using both Vision and Perspective modules
  • Strong software programming skills using high-level programming languages such as Python, Java, etc., and capable of programming complex database queries
  • Able to understand complex manufacturing processes and systems; customer-focused, positive, supportive, self-motivated, considerate personality required - must work well in a team environment

Bonus Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • Experience in an automotive manufacturing production environment
  • Strong understanding of the plant floor manufacturing system architectures and industrial communication protocols
