About the role

Reporting to the Director of Rack and System Integration, the System Integration Engineer will define data center solutions with multiple stakeholders, including key customers and our global design centers. Tasks may include defining solutions to meet customer requirements, analysis and validation of customer-driven designs, and providing technical guidance to internal resources.

Responsibilities

  • Definition and execution of product validation, onboarding of new product, failure analysis, and collaboration with program stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Operations, local CEC, and global CEC resources to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Apply expertise in data center infrastructure production and solutions, identify new and emerging technologies, and participate in technical system requirements and design reviews.
  • Provide technical input to RFP/RFQ responses and create system-level and component-level documentation in collaboration with internal and/or customer design teams.
  • Support validation and production test, including functional, reliability, performance, environmental, mechanical, and software compatibility testing.
  • Resolve manufacturing yield and field reliability problems by analyzing root causes and developing corrective action measures.
  • Analyze and interpret technical test data and prepare test reports.
  • Conduct validation of system components, including HDDs, SSDs, IO cards, memory, BMC/BIOS firmware, etc.
  • Train factory support, test technicians, and test operators on system hardware and/or software.
  • Analyze and interpret software or system-level diagnostic failures (software and hardware).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of cloud and data center enterprise computing hardware, including power distribution, cooling, and AI data center trends that push technology and factory requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry open standards for rack and system designs.
  • Experience with Linux OS installation and configuration, shell scripting, error log analysis, and at least one scripting language.
  • Travel up to 50% based on business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills—direct and unassuming, with the ability to quickly assess complex issues and discern key messages.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain a clear, customer-focused approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and complete objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with software development and tracking tools such as Visual Studio, Jira/Bitbucket/Git, etc.
  • Experience in working in an NPI (New Product Introduction) environment and transferring products between facilities.
  • Working knowledge of production assembly and test processes.
