System Engineer

Location: Baltimore, MD (Onsite)Clearance: Active Secret (Ability to obtain SAP)Position OverviewJoin Northrop Grumman Mission Systems to lead hands-on integration, testing, and verification for advanced RF sensor and radar systems (including airborne and ground-based radars). You will collaborate with cross-functional software, hardware, and firmware teams to ensure mission-critical technologies perform under real-world conditions. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct hands-on integration, troubleshooting, and testing of complex RF sensor systems and labs.Develop and execute comprehensive system test plans, procedures, acceptance test protocols, and reports.Analyze test results using MATLAB and scripting tools to evaluate system performance and verify requirements.Use RF lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers) to diagnose HW/SW/FW issues.Support flight tests, environmental testing, and readiness reviews alongside multi-disciplinary teams. QualificationsPrincipal Systems Engineer:Education & Experience: Bachelor’s + 5 yrs, Master’s + 3 yrs, or Ph.D. + 1 yr in STEM (or +4 yrs experience in lieu of a degree). Senior Principal Systems Engineer:Education & Experience: Bachelor’s + 8 yrs, Master’s + 6 yrs, or Ph.D. + 4 yrs in STEM (or +4 yrs experience in lieu of a degree). Requirements for Both Levels:U.S. Citizenship with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance and SAP eligibility.Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment and MATLAB for test scripting and data analysis.Proven background in system-level troubleshooting and hardware/software integration. Preferred Skills: Top Secret clearance, Python scripting, C/C++ knowledge, embedded systems, and prior radar/RF sensor experience.
