System Engineer - Journeyman

About the role

This position provides systems engineering support for the 50th Space Communications Squadron at Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Determine technical solutions for NIPR, SIPR, Telephones, and Red Switch systems, including specifications of electronic equipment, physical hardware, copper and fiber optic connectivity, and site support development, design, and implementation.
• Provide problem analysis, technical assessments, and identify potential operational impacts to 50 SCS Government personnel.
• Ensure designed and developed technical solutions integrate with local, Air Force, and DoD architectures.
• Identify, document, and digitally store architectural and infrastructure changes.
• Interface with and support other contractors and government agencies on a daily basis.
• Provide Monthly Activity Reports (MAR) to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and Government Program Manager, maintaining records in accordance with records management procedures.
• Prepare, review, update, and deliver written procedures for the Government work center.
• Provide design support for Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Letters of Agreement (LOAs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) requiring communications capability pertaining to Schriever AFB circuits.
• Provide designs that include system initialization, IT device configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring, security, network protocols, and network encryption.
• Comply with 50 SCS established change/configuration procedures.
• Provide implementation engineering, coordination, upgrade, and solution installation support.
• Promote and encourage a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements).
• Foster an environment where compliance, conflict, FAR, and CFR issues are reported and discussed.
• Responsible for aiding in self-development by participating in available company training.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area to ensure safety and report any unsafe conditions.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the Top Secret/SCI level, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five (5) years of experience in a DoD environment.
• Experience with the development, design, and implementation of enterprise systems.
• Experience with DoD systems infrastructure, including configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience providing technical solutions.
