About the role
Raft (https://TeamRaft.com) is a customer-obsessed non-traditional small business focused on Distributed Data Systems, Platforms at Scale, and Complex Application Development. We are headquartered in McLean, VA and serve innovative federal and public agencies through design thinking, cutting-edge technology, and cloud-native ecosystems. Our Systems Engineer will support the Digital Bloodhound program by providing Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to the United States Space Force (USSF) Cyber Operations Branch.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor installed hardware and software systems
- Assist with network tap design and system surveys to ensure proper data sampling and transport
- Evaluate existing systems and assist with technical refreshes
- Lead and/or assist with hardware installations and software deployments at mission system sites
- Communicate with customers, stakeholders, and agile software development teams
- Guide teams and mentor junior members
- Understand data security practices
- Problem-solve and analyze effectively
- Interact professionally and communicate clearly
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in System Administration (Linux and applications)
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or a STEM-related specialty
- Experience in JIRA, Confluence, and Slack or Mattermost
- CCNA, Security+, CCNP, JNCIS-Sec, JNCDA, or equivalent certifications
- Experience with requirements analysis, scaled agile framework, data analytics, risk management, and agile transformations
- Technical experience in software development, systems engineering, integration, or release management
- Full-stack development experience
- Relevant DoD and/or industry work experience in Space Systems Command
- Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZWO) program office
- Understanding of data security practices
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Any certification related to data management, data engineering, software development, or cyber security would be beneficial

- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado with up to 10% travel
- Salary range: $85,000 - $128,000
