System Electrician III-
About the role
Individual performs a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining electrical transmission equipment of all types and voltage classes throughout the region. Such tasks include but are not limited to the installation of electrical equipment, such as transformers, metering equipment, station service equipment, bus work and other associated electrical equipment, wiring and installing switchboards, related control equipment and remote-control equipment, assisting in the operational analysis, trouble analysis and repair on electrical, electronic, and electromechanical equipment. The individual will also be able to operate bucket trucks, traveling cranes and a variety of power operated equipment. This position is one step in a multi-step progression.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, repair, and maintain electrical transmission equipment of all types and voltage classes throughout the region.
- Install electrical equipment, such as transformers, metering equipment, station service equipment, bus work and other associated electrical equipment.
- Wiring and installing switchboards, related control equipment and remote-control equipment.
- Assist in the operational analysis, trouble analysis and repair on electrical, electronic, and electromechanical equipment.
- Operate bucket trucks, traveling cranes and a variety of power operated equipment.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- An Associate Degree in Industrial Electricity, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology.
- The successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
- The ability to operate test equipment, hand, and power tools.
- The ability to interpret electrical drawings.
- The ability to work from elevated positions and within confined spaces.
- The ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision.
- Basic computer skills.
- The ability to perform moderately heavy physical work outdoors in all seasons and at times for extended periods.
Qualifications
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license, a Commercial Driver’s License (or the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License) with endorsements for Air Brakes, Hazardous Materials and Tank Vehicles, respirator clearance, and a DOT medical card.
- Successfully completed the EEI CAST aptitude test.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is preferred.

Starting Rate of Pay (per hour) + progression according to contract: $34.29, $37.31, $40.34, $43.49, $46.62, $49.84, $53.03
Schedule
Position requires flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
