System Director, Real Estate

About the role

The System Director of Real Estate, Property & Asset Management leads enterprise‑wide real estate strategy for Main Line Health, overseeing a diverse portfolio of hospitals, medical office buildings, ambulatory care centers, administrative facilities, land holdings, and leased properties. The role partners with finance, legal, facilities, construction, operations, and clinical services to evaluate growth opportunities, lead complex transactions, optimize portfolio performance, and align real estate decisions with clinical, operational, and financial priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an enterprise‑wide real estate strategy supporting the health system’s mission, patient access, financial performance, and long‑term success.
• Oversee a diverse portfolio including hospitals, medical office buildings, ambulatory care centers, administrative facilities, land holdings, and leased properties.
• Evaluate growth opportunities and lead complex real estate transactions.
• Optimize portfolio performance and ensure alignment with clinical, operational, and financial priorities.
• Provide executive oversight of asset management, leasing governance, property operations, and financial performance.
• Partner with finance, legal, facilities, construction, operations, and clinical services to advance system initiatives, support ambulatory growth, guide campus master planning, and identify portfolio optimization and redevelopment opportunities.
• Leverage technology, analytics, and modern portfolio management tools to improve decision‑making, maximize asset utilization, and create measurable value.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in transactional real estate.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
• 5+ years’ of management experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Master’s Degree in Real Estate/Business Administration/Finance preferred.
