System Development Engineer II, Time & Pay Innovation
About the role
Join the Time & Pay Innovation team within Amazon Experience and Technology (AET) to automate system operations for one of the largest workforces in the world. We support the computing infrastructure for applications that enable Amazon to manage time and attendance and related HR needs for employees globally. We are looking for an experienced Systems Development Engineer II to join us in our pursuit of operational excellence through automation. The Infrastructure team within Time and Pay Innovation ensures optimal performance and reliability of critical workforce management systems. We deliver excellence through innovative automated solutions and advanced monitoring platforms, supporting mission-critical HR systems that serve a global workforce at scale. Basic qualifications
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience deploying, managing, and optimizing Microsoft Windows Server, or experience in managing and troubleshooting network and experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications
- Experience in an AWS environment, including VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, SQS, CloudFormation and Lambda
- Knowledge of existing and developing technologies
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or experience in managing and troubleshooting network and experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience
- Experience with web-based applications and HTTP, or experience deploying, managing, and optimizing Microsoft Windows Server and experience in networking administration and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of IIS, Tomcat and/or Apache
- Experience managing infrastructure for large UKG Workforce Central installations
- Oracle Database Administration experience
Pay
USA, WA, Bellevue: $129,200.00 - $174,800.00 USD annually. Your package will also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
