About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join Amazon's world-class technical team in Seattle, WA, working alongside leading engineers and technical managers while developing your skills and advancing your career within one of the most innovative technology companies. Amazon Web Services is building some of the largest distributed systems in the world, including database offerings like Aurora, DynamoDB, EMR, OpenSearch, RDS, and Redshift, which power critical parts of the internet today.

A successful Engineer on this team will do more than write code and triage problems; they will collaborate with Amazon's largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services, dive deep into technical issues, and work to improve the customer experience.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be great fun to work with, embracing Amazon's credo “Work hard. Have fun. Make history.”
  • Have strong Linux and networking fundamentals, with deep experience in large-scale, distributed environments.
  • Understand networking technology and how servers and networks interrelate, regularly participating in deep-dive troubleshooting and technical post-mortems.
  • Love to code, using technology like Java or Python to solve complex system problems, with a solid grasp of software development methodology.
  • Think big—building and deploying solutions across thousands of devices and striving to improve and streamline processes at massive scale.

This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The candidate must also be willing to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
