About the role

HII’s Mission Technologies division is seeking a Network Administrator (Systems Administrator) to join their team at MCBH Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, and securing Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client and server systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform Microsoft Windows server administration, manage GPOs, create/modify DHCP reservations, patching and STIG’ing.
• Author standard operating procedures and perform Tier 2 technical support.
• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
• Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system wide software, and allocate mass storage space.
• Interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation, and provide backup recovery.
• Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Requirements

• 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 10 years relevant experience with High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Candidate must have a Security+ or equivalent certification.
• Candidate must have a Secret Security Clearance.
• Candidate must have experience with Microsoft WSUS or SCCM.
• Candidate must have experience with Windows Servers 2016/2019 and Active Directory.
• Candidate must have Windows desktop operating systems (WIN10 SHB).
• Candidate must have experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
• Candidate must have experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations.
• Candidate must have experience with VMware.
• Candidate must have familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols.
• Candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems.
• Candidate must have a strong customer focus, the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.
• Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Bonus Points For Having!

• Server focused experience highly desired.
• Linux+ or Microsoft certification preferred.
• Experience installing release upgrades highly preferred.
• RedHat desktop operating systems (RHEL 7/8) experience highly desired.
