About the Role

The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Systems Administrator oversees the administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity protection of all Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN) client and server systems that support enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications and services within the NITE. This opportunity resides within Global Security (GS), which delivers live, virtual, constructive (LVC) solutions; fleet sustainment; nuclear and environmental services. The role is full time, salaried/exempt, based in the United States, with up to 10% travel. The anticipated salary range is $80,152.00 – $93,953.60. A Secret security clearance is required and must be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Set up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintain system documentation.
  • Tune system performance.
  • Install system-wide software and allocate mass storage space.
  • Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software.
  • Coordinate installation and provide backup recovery.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Work in close coordination with other team members and departments to update, monitor, and maintain servers and workstations used throughout the enterprise.
  • Perform Microsoft Windows server administration.
  • Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Create and modify DHCP reservations.
  • Patch and configure systems in compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).

Requirements

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 4 years of relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Must hold Security+ or an equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 10 SHB).
  • Must currently hold and be able to maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
  • Experience patching Microsoft servers and workstations.
  • Experience with VMware.
  • Familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and digest technical information.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Server-focused experience highly desired.
  • RedHat desktop operating systems (RHEL 7/8) experience highly desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS or SCCM.
  • Experience with Windows Servers 2016/2019.
  • Linux+ or Microsoft certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this role is $80,152.00 – $93,953.60. HII's Mission Technologies division considers a variety of factors when extending an offer, including the role's function and a candidate's education, training, work experience, and key skills. Bonus or other non-recurrent compensation is occasionally offered for qualified positions and, if applicable to this role, will be addressed by the recruiter at the screening phase of application.
