System Administrator (SA) – Skill Level 3
About the role
Kaizen Approach is currently seeking a System Administrator to support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems within a secure operational environment. In this role, you will manage IT system infrastructure and provide day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client, server, storage, network, and mobile devices. You will also deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, including diagnosing issues, resolving hardware and software problems, and communicating status updates to agency management and internal customers. This position involves supporting the dispatch system, remaining engaged through issue resolution, and configuring and managing Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage IT system infrastructure and provide day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client, server, storage, network, and mobile devices.
- Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, including diagnosing issues, resolving hardware and software problems, and communicating status updates to agency management and internal customers.
- Support day-to-day IT operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client, server, storage, network, and mobile devices, including server hardware, applications, and software integrations.
- Assist users in accessing and using IT systems while providing detailed analysis, status updates, and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated issues.
- Support escalation workflows, dispatch systems, and hardware problem resolution, remaining actively involved through issue closure and resolution.
- Configure, manage, and maintain Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems, installing and loading operating system software, configuring network components, and implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization, perform system capacity analysis and planning, support system and mission architecture design and associated hardware, understand system administration interdependencies within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and analyze and resolve complex system-level integration issues.
Requirements
- Must have the ability to provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems, including managing daily configuration and operational activities across system infrastructure.
- Must possess the ability to deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution, including in-depth troubleshooting of complex IT system issues.
- Must be capable of supporting day-to-day IT operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client, server, storage, network, and mobile devices, including server hardware, applications, and software integrations.
- Must have the ability to assist users in accessing and using IT systems while providing detailed analysis, status updates, and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated issues.
- Must possess the ability to support escalation workflows, dispatch systems, and hardware problem resolution, remaining actively involved through issue closure and resolution.
- Must be capable of configuring, managing, and maintaining Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems, installing and loading operating system software, configuring network components, and implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Must have the ability to optimize system operations and resource utilization, perform system capacity analysis and planning, support system and mission architecture design and associated hardware, understand system administration interdependencies within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and analyze and resolve complex system-level integration issues.
- Must have ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or fifteen (15) years of relevant System Administrator experience if a degree is not held.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
