System Administrator, Level 2

About the role

Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and related processes. Supports day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Support the escalation and communication of system status to agency management and internal customers.
• Manage the dispatch system and hardware issues, remaining involved in the resolution process.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install/load software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components.
• Implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Optimize system operations, resource utilization, and perform capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets to management and customers.
• Assist users in accessing and using IT systems.

Requirements

• Ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university (or five (5) years of additional SA experience in lieu of a degree).
• DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with an appropriate current polygraph is required.
• Ability to receive privileged access rights.
