System Administrator, Journeyman -TENM

About the role

Network and Computer Systems Administrator responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Internet systems, or a segment of a network system. Contract pending award.

Responsibilities

• Monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and performs necessary maintenance to support network availability
• Monitors and tests Web site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly and without interruption
• Assists in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
• Supervises computer user support specialists and computer network support specialists
• Administers network security measures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• BA/BS degree (8+ additional years of experience in lieu of the degree is acceptable)
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• CompTIA: Security+ CE certification
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with various operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, and Unix)
• Must have an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewall configurations
• Must have a familiarity with platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud to enable management of virtualized environments and cloud services
• Must be familiar with scripting and automation
• Must have hardware management skills
• Must be able to monitor and troubleshoot for rapid issue resolution
• Must be able to stay calm under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing environments

Physical Qualifications

• The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment
• Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
• Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time
• Must be capable of lifting 25 lbs. unassisted
