Journeyman System Administrator

About the role

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman System Administrator located at the Hanscom AFB in Bedford Massachusetts to support the the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Electronic Systems PEO (AFLCMC/ES).

Responsibilities

• Provide system administration of network, web, and/or communication systems, including Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems, involving network security
• Prepare technical implementation plans that provide integrated solutions including actions, milestones, timelines and critical paths required for complete solutions
• Perform daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems which may be mainframe, mini, client/server, or cloud based
• Optimize system operation and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using business systems

Qualifications

• Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
• Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret Level Clearance
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related field
• Years of experience: 3+ years of experience with 3+ years of experience in the DoD
• Technical Skills: Experience with AWS, Confluence/JIRA or LCMP
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Other Skills: Ability to deliver security briefings and training, strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities, ability to work independently and manage multiple security tasks simultaneously, ability to collaborate with Government, military, and contractor personnel
