About the role
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is seeking a System Administrator to support TOS II at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. The role involves deploying, configuring, and managing Windows environments, administering core server and network services, and leading the end-to-end lifecycle of network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage Windows environments, utilizing enterprise tools and scripting to streamline provisioning and maintenance.
- Administer core server and network services, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP, to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Manage and maintain terabytes of infrastructure storage across the enterprise.
- Develop and deploy automation scripts to enhance operational efficiency in system management, patching, and reporting.
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of network infrastructure, including initial architecture, engineering studies, design calculations, procurement, ongoing maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Configure and manage network systems to meet and exceed DoD cybersecurity protocols while driving automation initiatives to streamline processes and minimize manual intervention.
- Provide critical engineering support for test facilities during active operations, execute system verification and validation plans, and serve as the primary escalation point to resolve complex network outages.
- Implement and audit robust cybersecurity controls, including system hardening, access management, and vulnerability remediation to ensure compliance with DoD standards.
- Provide troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues across diverse operating systems and virtualized environments.
- Execute end-to-end system maintenance, including performance monitoring, enterprise patch management (SCCM, WSUS, Lansweeper, custom tools), and proactive vulnerability assessments.
- Implement, maintain and test comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and rapid system restoration capabilities.
- Develop dynamic testing schedules and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Partner with Information System Security Managers (ISSM) to ensure policy compliance and stay current with emerging technologies and relevant certifications.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field
- Grade 09: 8 plus years of progressively relevant IT experience. In lieu of degree 12 years of progressively relevant IT experience.
- Grade 10: 11 plus years of progressively relevant IT experience. In lieu of degree 15 years of progressively relevant IT experience.
- Must currently possess or commit to obtaining any requisite certifications required for assuming administrative role in accordance with DoD 8140 within 6 months of hiring date.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
- Current US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in complex multi-platform environments.
- Experience with Windows operating systems operating in an Enterprise environment.
- Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Windows Server OS, and enterprise storage solutions.
- Proficiency in managing DNS, DHCP, and network services in dynamic enterprise environments.
- Skilled in scripting languages, primarily PowerShell, Bash, and Python, for automation and orchestration.
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SSH) and network security best practices.
- Effective communicator with proven teamwork abilities and technical documentation skills.
- MICSA, MCSE certification in Windows Server and Windows Domain management.
