About the role

A Carter Lumber System Accuracy Specialist ensures inventory, margin, and POS reporting accuracy in accordance with company policies and procedures. The role involves assisting employees in training and providing feedback on the POS system, 20/20 system, and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Store Reviews
    • Conducts store reviews to assess compliance with procedures in areas such as inventory management, system accuracy, pricing, safety, purchasing, accounting, and store standards.
    • Reports findings to Store Managers and Market Vice Presidents.
    • Follows up on deficiencies and determines if training assistance is needed.
  • Inventory
    • Achieves acceptable inventory levels.
    • Audits stores to ensure inventory preparation is completed.
    • Conducts year-end physical and paper audits to verify procedures were followed.
    • Resolves issues with the year-end inventory process.
  • Pricing & Margin Accuracy
    • Maintains an accurate POS system margin and pricing system.
    • Utilizes POS reporting and company policies to ensure accuracy.
  • Special Projects
    • Trains employees as directed by management.
    • Assists in projects that lead to corporate savings and profit.

Qualifications

  • Previous operational experience in a pro building materials environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in analyzing inventory activity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to protect confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, capable of handling multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Overnight and occasional weekend travel may be required.
