Synthetic Biology Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project

About the role

We're seeking a specialist in synthetic biology to contribute to the development of high-quality training data for large-scale language models. This data will be used to advance AI capabilities in areas such as world-class education, bioengineering research, and medical, agricultural, and industrial innovations.

Responsibilities

• Converse with advanced language models on synthetic biology topics including gene synthesis, chassis organism optimization, promoter and ribosome binding site tuning, pathway assembly, biosafety, and ethical considerations.
• Verify the factual accuracy and logical soundness of model responses.
• Document every failure mode encountered during model interactions to improve model reasoning.
• Provide feedback on prompt engineering and evaluation metrics to enhance model performance.

Requirements

• A PhD in synthetic biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a closely related life-science field is preferred.
• Peer-reviewed publications, hands-on experience with synthetic biology techniques, or relevant work in bioengineering labs demonstrate your expertise.
• Clear, metacognitive communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with the model.

Qualifications

• Expertise in synthetic biology, genetic circuit design, metabolic engineering, genome editing (CRISPR/Cas systems), systems biology, biomanufacturing, and computational modeling.

Skills

• Strong understanding of advanced language models and their applications in synthetic biology.
• Experience with synthetic biology techniques and tools.
• Ability to communicate complex biological concepts clearly and effectively.

Pay

The pay range is $8 to $65 per hour, with final rates determined based on experience, expertise, and location. Exact rates may vary from the pay range listed.
