Biology Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project

About the role

We're seeking biology specialists to contribute to the development of high-quality training data for large-scale language models. Your expertise in areas like cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, and more will be crucial in shaping the future of AI.

Responsibilities

• Challenge advanced language models on topics such as signal transduction, gene expression, protein folding, microscopy techniques, cloning methods, CRISPR and genome editing, laboratory protocols, biosafety procedures, and the role of biological systems in health and disease.
• Document every failure mode encountered during these challenges to improve model reasoning.
• Converse with the model on lab scenarios and theoretical biology questions.
• Verify the factual accuracy and logical soundness of the model's responses.
• Capture reproducible error traces and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.

Requirements

• A PhD in biology or a closely related life-science field is preferred.
• Peer-reviewed publications, wet-lab or field research, or hands-on laboratory diagnostics projects demonstrate relevant experience.
• Clear, metacognitive communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of biological concepts and principles.
• Experience with advanced laboratory techniques and technologies.
• Ability to communicate complex biological concepts effectively.

Skills

• Expertise in at least one area of biology (cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Pay

We offer a pay range of $8-to-$65 per hour, with the exact rate determined after evaluating your experience, expertise, and geographic location. Final offer amounts may vary from the pay range listed above.
