About the role
The Elementary School at School in the Square is a Dual Language 1st-5th grade program dedicated to providing each student with the tools and support to become lifelong learners. The school focuses on a creative, bilingual immersion program alongside a focus on SEL.
Responsibilities
- Support the school's efforts to ensure high academic standards while addressing the social-emotional needs of all students.
- Implement interactive, hands-on, and creative learning methods.
- Use technology to support instruction in all areas.
- Utilize assessment data to drive instructional decisions.
- Differentiate curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Collaborate with a diverse and committed School Leadership Team (SLT).
- Engage in restorative practices, anti-racism education, culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy, and trauma-informed practices.
- Show self-reflection and the ability to accept and implement feedback to improve instruction.
Requirements
- A graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant content area.
- A current possessor of a valid New York State Teaching Certification or willing to enroll in a New York State Teaching Certification Program and obtain such Certification within two years.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Pay
Competitive salary ranges from $68,500 - $124,610 for certified teachers and $65,500 - $121,061 for uncertified teachers.
