Switchboard Operator (Part-Time)

Responsibilities
- Operate telecommunications equipment and route calls to the proper extensions
- Maintain contact with the ECC Police department and Operations and Maintenance department using a two-way radio
- Update and maintain computerized trouble logs, police logs, and telephone logs on a daily basis
- Aid in emergency situations through communication with the ECC Police department and/or paramedics
- Monitor weather radio and fire alarm panel and report any issues to the necessary personnel
- Maintain required training, licensure, and/or certification
- Maintain confidentiality of privileged information and adhere to applicable privacy laws
- Demonstrate sensitivity, understanding, and respect for diverse populations within the workplace
- Maintain an understanding of the work of colleagues to provide backup and support during short staffing or increased workload
- Adhere to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
- Assist visitors by directing them to the proper person or department
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with 1 year of switchboard experience
- Equivalent combination of training and experience
- Working skill in customer service

Pay
This is a Part-Time Support Staff position at grade 8, with an hourly pay rate of $16.19 to $18.00. The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.
