Instructing

Develops and implements swimming lessons following YMCA guidelines.

Supporting Participants

• Encourages participants to achieve their goals.
• Supports members and program participants in reaching their objectives.

Relationship Building

• Builds positive relationships with volunteers, members, and program participants.
• Works collaboratively with colleagues at all organizational levels.
• Helps participants and families connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Encourages parent or caregiver involvement.

Information Sharing

• Shares information about aquatics programs and schedules.
• Refers program participants and families to other YMCA programs as appropriate.

Record Keeping

• Maintains required records such as attendance and progress reports.

Policies and Procedures

• Fulfills all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Follows emergency and safety procedures.
• Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.

Equipment Management

• Organizes and puts away needed class equipment.
• Reports damaged equipment.

Supervision

• Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.
