Swim Instructor - Jefferson County YMCA

Responsibilities

• Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, preparing lesson plans and supporting members and program participants in achieving their goals.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, members or program participants, and colleagues at all levels; help participants and families connect with each other and the YMCA, and encourage parent or caregiver involvement.
• Convey information on aquatics programs and schedules, and refer program participants and families to other programs as appropriate.
• Maintain required records, such as attendance and progress reports.
• Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety protocols.
• Complete incident and accident reports as necessary.
• Organize and store class equipment, and report any damaged equipment.
• Train and supervise class aides as assigned.
