Swim Instructor/Lifeguard (Per Diem) Flex

Lifeguard

• Maintain continuous surveillance of people in the pool to ensure they are swimming within safety protocols.
• Ensure appropriate headcount of people involved in a watersport on an hourly basis.
• Spot hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents.
• Control and report unruly behavior and evict individuals not adhering to behavior protocols.
• Perform rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents including CPR and AED if needed.
• Assists with chlorine residual water tests and with records and charts of water tests and records of accidents.
• Checks the safety of rescue tubes and buoys and performs needed maintenance.
• Assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment.

Swim Instructor

• Teach learn-to-swim programs.
• Create and execute ideas on how to increase attendance in classes.
• Instruct or assist classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed.
• Provide a fun and educational swim lesson experience for both participants and parents.
• Provide exemplary customer service ensuring the best swim lesson experience for the participants and parents.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including communication skills with students, parents and facility staff.
• Attend all training sessions and any additional staff meetings.
• Complete all appropriate lesson paperwork during shift.
