About the role
Swim instructors are expected to teach all four competitive strokes and possess experience working with children.
Responsibilities
- Teach swim lessons following the American Red Cross Swim Lessons Curriculum
- Pass a traditional swim test demonstrating proficiency in four competitive strokes
- Provide in-water corrections effectively
- Paid for Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification
- Available shifts: Mondays (4pm to 7:45pm), Wednesdays (4pm to 7:45pm), Saturdays (7:45am to 12:45pm), Sundays (7:45am to 12pm)
Requirements
- Willing to obtain necessary training certifications
- Maintain accurate records for participant progress and communicate with caregivers
- Work as part of a team to build confidence, friendships, and skills among participants
- Act as a dependable team member and coach
- Attend staff meetings
- Minimum age of 16
- Complete program-specific and employee orientation training by required timeline
