Major Job Responsibilities
- Maintain vigilant supervision of participants, ensure water safety rules are followed, and model safe behaviors.
- Ensure high quality programs that are result-based driven, with proper planning and engaging lesson plans.
- Administer data collection of participants and progress reporting throughout the program.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all program participants, parents, Greater Midland Staff and Volunteers.
- Ensure that character development is present in all programs (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility).
- Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisor in the achievements of department and center goals/objectives.
- Consistently demonstrate behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum age of 16
- Exemplify passion for aquatic safety and swim skill development
- Experience working with youth (preferred)
- Experience in an aquatic setting (preferred)
- Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Physical Requirements: Instructors must have strong swimming skills, and the ability to safely assist others in an aquatic environment.
