Swim Instructor

About the role

We’re hiring year-round, part-time swim instructors with leadership opportunities available within your first 3–6 months. This role is ideal for students or individuals looking for extra hours without late nights—weekday lessons end at 8:00 pm, with no Saturday or Sunday nights.

You’ll instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques using the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. After each 30-minute lesson, you’ll communicate progress and celebrate accomplishments with parents and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
• Evaluate students’ progress and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
• Interact with parents/guardians about students’ swim skill development
• Use problem-solving and creative thinking to address student challenges
• Maintain and store pool equipment, including setting up/removing lane lines and class materials
• Perform light cleaning duties (e.g., window washing, deck mopping, trash removal)
• Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
• Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to work with children
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR, and AED certification as part of training
• Ability to work in a warm, humid, chlorinated pool environment (lifting, standing for extended periods, demonstrating skills, and performing in-water rescues if necessary)
• Comfort with moderate noise levels
