Swim Instructor *

About the role

Swim Instructors plan and organize class teaching outlines, methods and goals that support the general teaching outlines provided by the Aquatics Manager and the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program. They organize and direct activities of assigned students in order to provide a high level of quality instruction for all students. They work with the Aquatics Manager on an ongoing basis to upgrade, improve and refine individual teaching skills related to teaching effective swimming lessons to various age groups and various skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Establish positive public relations with parents/guardians of class students, helping them recognize and understand swimming developments and achievements.
• Demonstrate a pleasing personality and positive/assertive character and the ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Complete and submit records and documentation of completed lessons to the Aquatics Manager and the American Red Cross office.
• May be required to perform other related duties as requested.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must hold a current American Red Cross (and/or other Nationally recognized organization) Water Safety Instructor Certification.
• Must also hold a current American Red Cross (and/or other Nationally recognized organization) CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Qualifications
