Sweeper Truck Operator CDL Class A or B

About the role

Professional Sweeper Operator/Driver to support area operations. Will operate a Sweeper Truck to remove debris, including asphalt and concrete millings, mud, construction materials, highway debris build-up, and highway waste. Performs any and all other duties as necessary but not otherwise specified.

Responsibilities

• Perform required pre/post-trip inspection of the equipment you would be operating.
• Record operating data such as products and quantities, gauge readings, and operating times, manually or using computers.
• Maintain proper maintenance of truck and distribute including tire pressure, fluid levels, etc.
• Communicate using 2-way radios and verbal communication.
• Review scheduled route assigned; be proactive in asking questions if route/job is unclear.
• Perform the safe operation of a CDL Broom Sweeper Truck.
• Complete assigned job(s) in the time allotted while maintaining quality of work.
• Report any equipment failures.
• Maintain DOT qualifications.
• Work nights, overtime, and weekends as needed within DOT requirements weekly.
• Work in varying weather conditions and environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.
• Keep company vehicle clean and orderly; inform management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems.
• Comply with all Dunn policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have CDL Class A or B.
• Clean MVR.
• Over 2 years verifiable experience preferred.
• Must be able to read maps and navigate around central Alabama.
• Must be able to work the following physical demands per shift:
  • Sit: 10+ hours
  • Bend or Stoop: 30 minutes
  • Crouch: Rarely
  • Carry: 1 hour
  • Walk or Stand: 4 hours
  • Climb in & out of truck: Multiple times
  • Frequently lift:
    • 5-10 lbs. – 15 minutes
    • 10-20 lbs. – 15 minutes
    • 20-50 lbs. – 15 minutes
    • Over 50 lbs. – Rarely
