About the Role
Our Truck Drivers are reliable and dependable, representing Helena in a courteous and professional manner while on the road and at the home office. Drivers use tact and diplomacy in every aspect of the job when interacting with customers, other employees, and leaders. You are home daily, and benefits start on your first day.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload trailers using a forklift or hand truck.
- Transport loads over required routes to proper destinations.
- Obtain shipping bills and necessary signatures.
- Return completed paperwork to the shipping office.
- Remove empty skids from trailer truck and carry them to designated piling area.
- Perform miscellaneous service duties on vehicle, including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air in tires daily.
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by leadership.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Class A or B CDL is required.
- Hazmat & Tanker endorsements are preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required.
- Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license is required to drive a company vehicle.
- Must meet all company requirements to drive a Helena vehicle.
- Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
At Helena, safety is our highest priority. The work environment for this position is primarily a warehouse/outdoor setting where the noise level is usually moderate to loud and occasionally very loud. You will work outdoors in all weather conditions and may be exposed to outdoor elements. In the warehouse, you may work around moving equipment/mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and a risk of electrical shock.
This position requires:
- Frequent use of hands for various tasks.
- Regular talking, hearing, walking, sitting, and standing (8 hours a day or more).
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to and including 50 lbs or more.
- Reaching overhead (up to and including 25 lbs).
- Climbing, gripping, grasping, and twisting using hands and wrists.
- Bending and stooping for long periods.
- Working below knee level and above shoulder level for short periods.
