Essential job functions / responsibilities
Strategic Product Leadership: Own and execute the product strategy and roadmap for the Origination domain. Define the vision for how banks and credit unions acquire and onboard customers and members digitally. Translate market trends, client needs, regulatory requirements, and platform capabilities into clear product priorities. Determine where to build versus integrate with third-party providers. Prioritize squad work against client impact, commercial opportunity, platform strategy, and measurable business outcomes. Identify opportunities to simplify and modernize fragmented origination processes. Represent the Origination domain in executive planning, strategic client conversations, sales opportunities, and product demonstrations. Partner with Sales and Client teams to understand prospect requirements and help position Nymbus' origination capabilities competitively. Maintain a strong understanding of the digital account-opening and lending technology landscape.
Product & Commercial Ownership: Own measurable outcomes across the origination funnel, including application completion, approval, funding, booking, abandonment, and time-to-open. Understand why applicants abandon, fail, or require manual intervention and drive product improvements accordingly. Balance financial institution configurability with a consistent, scalable Nymbus platform. Partner with clients to understand how their acquisition strategies, product structures, membership requirements, underwriting policies, and operating models affect origination. Translate client-specific requirements into scalable platform capabilities wherever possible. Support commercial opportunities where Origination capabilities are central to winning or expanding a client relationship. Use market and client insights to identify new capabilities that increase platform value and competitive differentiation.
Banking & Credit Union Domain Expertise: Serve as a senior subject matter expert for digital deposit and lending origination. Understand the operational differences between banks and credit unions, including membership eligibility and account-opening requirements. Bring deep knowledge of deposit products, consumer lending, customer/member onboarding, application processing, and financial institution operations. Understand KYC, CIP, OFAC, fraud prevention, identity verification, credit decisioning, disclosures, adverse action, and other regulatory considerations embedded within origination. Understand how origination platforms interact with core banking systems, loan servicing platforms, credit bureaus, fraud tools, identity providers, document services, funding rails, and other third-party systems. Guide teams through complex product decisions where customer experience, operational requirements, regulatory obligations, and technical constraints intersect.
People Leadership: Build, develop, and lead the product talent responsible for the Origination domain. Set clear expectations for ownership, product judgment, domain expertise, AI-first execution, and delivery. Coach team members to develop deeper expertise in deposit origination and digital lending. Create an environment of accountability, urgency, experimentation, and continuous learning. Remove blockers and ensure teams have the context and decisions required to move quickly. Hold teams accountable for outcomes in production — not simply completion of requirements or features.
Cross-Functional Product Delivery: Partner closely with Builders, Architects, Shippers, UX, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Implementation, and Client teams. Ensure business intent and domain requirements are understood before solutions are built. Work with Architecture and Engineering on scalable integration patterns across core systems and third-party providers. Partner with Risk and Compliance to ensure regulatory and control requirements are incorporated into product design from the beginning. Partner with UX to continuously improve application completion, usability, accessibility, and conversion. Partner with implementation and client teams to ensure configuration and deployment models are repeatable and scalable. Maintain accountability for the quality and performance of what the domain ships into production.
AI-First Product Leadership: Operate AI-first in how you research, analyze, define, prioritize, and deliver product capabilities. Use AI to accelerate market research, client analysis, product discovery, specification, workflow analysis, and decision-making. Identify opportunities to embed AI directly into origination experiences and operations where it creates meaningful customer or financial institution value. Challenge teams to use AI to shorten the distance between identifying a problem and delivering a validated solution. Establish high standards for evidence, specifications, experimentation, and measurable outcomes. Continuously evaluate emerging AI capabilities and determine where they can materially improve origination, underwriting, fraud detection, servicing handoffs, or operational efficiency.
