About the role
The SVP/Chief Marketing Officer is a strategic executive leader responsible for developing and executing the credit union's enterprise-wide marketing, brand, communications, digital engagement, member growth, and business development strategies. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this role plays a critical role in advancing the credit union's mission, expanding market share, deepening member relationships, and supporting long-term organizational growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the credit union's strategic marketing plan in alignment with the organization's overall strategic goals.
- Lead all aspects of marketing, branding, member acquisition and retention, public relations, digital marketing, community engagement, product marketing, and market research.
- Oversee critical Sponsor and Select Employer Group (SEG) relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field required.
- Master's degree (MBA or related discipline) preferred.
- Minimum 10-15 years of progressive marketing leadership experience.
- At least 5 years in a senior executive marketing role with financial services, banking, credit unions, fintech, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success leading brand transformation, digital marketing initiatives, and member/customer growth strategies.
- Experience managing marketing budgets, agencies, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience presenting to executive leadership and Board of Directors.
- Strong understanding of retail banking, lending, deposit products, and financial services marketing.
- Expertise in digital marketing, marketing analytics, CRM systems, marketing automation, and data-driven decision making.
- Knowledge of California financial services market dynamics preferred.
