About the role
The Venue Sustainability Crew member plays a vital role in ensuring maximum landfill diversion during events, educating both fans and staff, and supporting the Venue Sustainability Manager's initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Venue Sustainability Crew on-boarding and training
- Aid in the mid and post-show sorting process of recycling, composting, and landfill materials
- Be available to work show days and non-show days on weekdays and weekends to ensure all waste is sorted and diverted
- Assist the Venue Sustainability Manager and Supervisor with educational support to all crew members and fans
- Maintain a clean sorting area and support the post-show pick after each event
- Other tasks as assigned by the Venue Sustainability Manager on an as-needed basis
- Enter availability 3 weeks in advance through the ABIMM system
- Communicate with the supervisor if availability changes and ensure accurate time tracking through the ABIMM system
Qualifications
- 90% of time spent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. or more, with 75% of that time spent sorting materials
- Ability to work outside in variable weather
- Strong time management skills
- Dedication to participating in a cause that makes a real impact
- Experience in events or zero waste events is a plus
- Creative thinker and problem solver
- Strong sense of teamwork
This is a seasonal, part-time position with varied hours depending on show schedules and business needs. Daytime availability is preferred due to the timing of waste sorting after shows.
