About the role

The Sustainability Associate will implement building performance, energy efficiency and sustainability rating programs, including USGBC LEED, Enterprise Green Communities (EGC) and the EPA ENERGY STAR Homes programs among others. They will also handle related program administration and support.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and administer building performance, energy efficiency and sustainability rating programs.
  • Manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment, multi-tasking effectively.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing professionally.
  • Use computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other related software applications.
  • Hold a college degree or equivalent experience in related fields.
  • Have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to travel within a 200-mile radius using a personal vehicle.
  • Able to climb ladders and carry up to 50 lbs as necessary.
  • Be available for full-time employment with regular project site visits, which is not a remote-work position.

Requirements

  • Construction experience, project management or work in related trades.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • College degree or equivalent experience in related fields.
  • Valid Driver license, clean driving record, ability and willingness to travel throughout the service area.
  • Able to climb ladders and carry up to 50-lbs, as necessary.
  • Availability and interest in full-time employment that is office-based with regular project site visits.

Qualifications

  • Dynamic ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other related software applications.
  • Knowledge of energy or building modeling software, including REM/Rate, Ekotrope, WUFI, Wrightsoft, CAD or similar programs.

Skills

  • Building science, residential energy efficiency, sustainability or renewable technologies.
  • Prior experience with LEED Green Building programs, RESNET Home Energy Ratings, ENERGY STAR Homes, Zero Energy / Carbon Neutral, Passive House building standards.
  • USGBC LEED Green Rater / LEED-Homes Accredited Professional (AP), Building Performance Institute (BPI), RESNET Home Energy Rating System (HERS), Passive House Institute or similar certification(s).
