About the Role
Assembles and installs after-market suspension packages, active exhaust systems or tips, and side-steps.
Responsibilities
- Installs after-market packages including off-road suspension systems, performance handling suspension systems, active exhaust systems or tips, side-steps, and more.
- Prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Assembles suspension components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies.
- Positions parts and sub-assemblies by using work instructions, templates, or reading measurements.
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Participates in daily shop organization and clean-up.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Meticulous attention to detail and capable of multi-tasking.
- Ability to meet and establish deadlines.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, as well as the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, complex operating and work instructions, and procedures manuals.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Basic fabrication skills, cutting and welding metal, and using a plasma cutter.
- Ability to use various tools, such as hand tools, air or electric power tools, torque wrenches (must own or purchase personal tools).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- No experience required, but 1+ year of prior experience working with 4x4’s suspension/lifts preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in manufacturing or manufacturing quality environment preferred.
- Experience using mechanical inspection or power tools preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing environment.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting for long periods of time.
- Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on a computer.
