About the role

You will be responsible for the assembling of individual parts into a finished product or component, by following blueprints and instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
  • Assemble assigned parts on assembly line in accordance with production guidelines.
  • Conduct inspections to verify the integrity and performance of assembled parts, identifying defects, and reporting them.
  • Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and machinery to assemble parts, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
  • Collaborate with other assembly line workers to meet production goals.
  • Fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory, checking stock levels, and tracking materials.
  • Interpret and analyze schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions to guide the assembly process.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Troubleshoot basic assembly issues and make adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a clean organized work area.

Requirements

  • A high School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Tech School preferred 2+ Years of assembly experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry is Preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of fastener installation and torquing processes.
  • The ability to follow instructions.
  • The ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
  • The ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and company operation sheets.
  • Basic troubleshooting Skills.
  • The ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • The ability to do complex assembly of parts.
  • The ability to work with close tolerance.
  • The ability to work overtime, including weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
  • May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.

Benefits

  • Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
  • May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
