About the role
The Sushi Clerk position at Hy-Vee is part of the Hy-Chi department and is non-exempt under FLSA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
- Escorts customers to products, secures items, loads/unloads heavy items, and passes along customer suggestions or requests
- Takes customer orders, answers the phone, and assists with deliveries
- Reviews orders, maintains cleanliness, prepares and replenishes products, removes trash, and adheres to company policies
- Washes dishes, orders product, prices product, and performs other job-related duties as needed
Requirements
- High school or equivalent education
- Six months or more of similar or related experience
- Food Safety Certification
Qualifications
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
- Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- Ability to write identifying information
- Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Physical requirements include being able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Visual requirements include vision from 20 inches or less to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, and field of vision
