About the role

This position is eligible for tips. This role involves producing all sushi menu items while working in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a base hourly rate between $16.90 and $28.00, and participation in the company's tip pool.

Responsibilities

  • Prep all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards.
  • Utilize various prep and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of our menu items in accordance with JOEY recipes.
  • Wash, chop, cut, grill, roast, sauté, fry, etc., coordinating with other stations as needed.
  • Maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner.
  • Clean, organize, and maintain refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, prep and dry storage areas, etc.
  • Stock, clean, and organize line stations.
  • Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds.
  • Report equipment problems and maintenance issues to leadership immediately.
  • Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of culinary experience (or equivalent if high potential).
  • Valid local and/or state Food Handler and California Responsible Beverage Service certifications.
  • Possess a passion for hospitality and a proven track record of creating world-class hospitality experiences.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, and stretching; repetitive manual tasks; and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
