Survivor Services Mental Health Clinician (FFS)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative techniques to serve the participants of JJPI more effectively.
• Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy to Survivor Services participants.
• Maintain a full caseload and work on program development to support and improve the financial health of the agency.
• Develop and maintain clinical utilization at 60%.
• Attend evidence-based practice (EBP) group consultations (in which you are trained) and individual supervision on a weekly basis.
• Provide supervisors with audiotaped or videotaped samples of sessions as requested.
• Ensure the provision of comprehensive case management services to participants at 20% case management utilization.
• Maintain clinical records in accordance with agency, managed care, and licensing requirements.
• Seek out appropriate professional training.
• Assist in implementing new, innovative treatment strategies.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with other agencies.
• Complete an initial treatment plan review within the first two visits of the participant's contract.
• Complete updated treatment/resiliency plans every 15th session or 90 days.
• Complete clinical progress notes within 24 hours of each session.
• Complete case management progress notes within 24 hours of each activity.
• Follow up appropriately with participants who have missed a session and continue appropriate outreach.
• Complete a discharge summary within 48 hours of the termination date.
• Complete and submit utilization reports (case management and clinical hours) at the end of each week.
• Make initial contact with each participant within five working days of assignment.
• Understand the payment source of each participant.
• Work effectively with other staff and contribute to the development of a team approach to treatment.
• Understand and communicate with other programs within the agency and work to foster a collaborative team approach across all programs.
• Understand the impact of the caseload requirements on the financial performance of the agency.
• Work with other staff to develop new treatment programs to promote the financial performance of the agency.
• Promote the agency in interactions with other agencies and professionals.
• Maintain own liability insurance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline required.
• Education must include at least 12 credit hours in clinical coursework in the foundations of behavioral health and the provision of mental health services. Up to 3 of these credit hours can be derived from a supervised clinical mental health practicum experience.

Skills

• Ability to work effectively with other staff and contribute to a team approach to treatment.
• Ability to meet timelines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, word processing, spreadsheets, and database entry.

Education

• Master's degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline required.
• Education must include at least 12 credit hours in clinical coursework in the foundations of behavioral health and the provision of mental health services. Up to 3 of these credit hours can be derived from a supervised clinical mental health practicum experience.

Experience

• Must meet one of the following: Have at least 2 years of experience providing mental health treatment.
• JJPI may consider candidates actively engaged in a related internship/practicum with lesser applied experience.
