Surveyor I

Responsibilities

• Aid in the collection of surveying data necessary for various pipeline projects.
• Place marks, stakes, pins, and monuments.
• Drive stakes to establish survey points and determine their location data.
• Measure distances using a survey tape and accurately read measurements.
• Carry stakes and other field equipment over long distances and through varied terrains.
• Perform routine maintenance on field equipment and manage supplies for the survey crew.
• Follow directions from the Party Chief in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and endure working outdoors for up to 8-12 hours in varying temperatures.
• Manual dexterity and physical capability to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective eyewear, gloves, and a mask.
• Pass a pre-employment fitness-for-duty physical, background check, and drug screen.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Be willing to travel to project sites located in Lexington, KY; Cookeville, TN; and Wheeling, WV.

Qualifications

• Previous pipeline surveying experience is preferred.
• Experience working at Mott MacDonald is preferred.
• Familiarity with common surveying terms and the use and care of survey tools and equipment.
• A strong work ethic and a team-player attitude.
