Responsibilities
- Aid in the collection of surveying data necessary for various pipeline projects.
- Place marks, stakes, pins, and monuments.
- Drive stakes to establish survey points and determine their location data.
- Measure distances using a survey tape and accurately read measurements.
- Carry stakes and other field equipment over long distances and through varied terrains.
- Perform routine maintenance on field equipment and manage supplies for the survey crew.
- Follow directions from the Party Chief in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements
- Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and endure working outdoors for up to 8-12 hours in varying temperatures.
- Manual dexterity and physical capability to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective eyewear, gloves, and a mask.
- Pass a pre-employment fitness-for-duty physical, background check, and drug screen.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
- Be willing to travel to project sites located in Lexington, KY; Cookeville, TN; and Wheeling, WV.
Qualifications
- Previous pipeline surveying experience is preferred.
- Experience working at Mott MacDonald is preferred.
- Familiarity with common surveying terms and the use and care of survey tools and equipment.
- A strong work ethic and a team-player attitude.
