Responsibilities
- CAD Drafting, Exhibits & Production
- Prepare layout and perform drafting tasks and calculations from instructions using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads
- Prepare technical drawings, exhibits, maps, and reports for survey projects
- Draft survey related exhibits including boundary, topographic, control, right of way, easement, and construction related drawings
- Data Processing, Calculations & Data Reduction
- Import, organize, and manage survey field data (points, figures, surfaces)
- Run calculations utilizing CAD programs and perform survey calculations/data reduction under supervision (experience dependent)
- Analyze raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy (experience dependent)
- Maintain field/data records, survey project files, and indexing systems
- Survey Support, Coordination & QA/QC
- Participate in pre survey planning meetings with Project Managers and Land Surveyors
- Support field crews with data and calculations for construction, topographic, right of way, boundary, and control survey projects
- Review and interpret field notes with field leadership to clarify discrepancies and verify adherence to survey practices
- Ensure drawing accuracy, completeness, and internal quality control prior to review
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation OpenRoads (role level dependent)
- Proficiency in Excel (role level dependent)
- Knowledge of GIS database management (role level dependent)
- Basic knowledge of land surveying laws and regulations
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record meeting company insurance requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures
- Ability to work in urban and rural environments, including roadways and uneven terrain
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, and operate survey equipment and supplies weighing up to 50+ pounds
- Potential exposure to insects, wildlife, traffic, and environmental hazards
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight for project locations more than two hours from the home office
