Survey Project Manager

Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Survey Lead Professional and project team to ensure full project execution.
- Supervision and mentoring to project technicians, project assistants, project professionals, and field survey associates.
- Aid in obtaining legal and/or required documents including landowner rights and survey permission to achieve the scope of the project.
- Research ownership, right-of-way, and other property issues.
- Provide technical expertise, as it relates to land surveying, to the team.
- Collaborate in a team environment to deliver creative solutions, methods, and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control.
- Visit project sites to monitor progress and direct field data collection.
- Able to attend client and public meetings as needed, days or nights.
Requirements
- College course work or technical training in a related field (geomatics/surveying, cartography, civil engineering, geography, and others).
- Professional certification or licensing in work specialization.
- 3 – 5 years related project management experience.
- Ability to operate electronic distance measuring equipment and other surveying instruments, boats, airboats, GPS, all-terrain vehicles, and other equipment necessary to obtain survey data.
- Proven project manager on multiple large projects simultaneously.
- Experienced with client management and business development.

Skills
- Frequent standing, walking while carrying equipment, possibly through rugged terrain.
- Operating and riding in varying types of boats.
- Balance, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Use hands to operate, handle, maneuver and/or manipulate objects, tools or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Use manual dexterity to operate equipment.
- Talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Duties are generally outdoors and are exposed to the weather.
- Rides in boats and is frequently exposed to the noise, dust, smells, and other environmental factors present in such situations.
- Nights away from home may be required.
