Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of a surveying and geomatics group, overseeing both field crews and technical office staff engaged in public and private sector land improvement projects.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key personnel and officials from various organizations and companies.
- Plan, organize, and supervise survey crews, technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Administer contracts and manage projects, including interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments to meet deadlines.
- Develop and lead surveying projects involving unique or complex challenges, conducting research and proposing innovative solutions.
- Prepare detailed proposals for potential surveying and geomatics projects.
- Support monthly billing processes to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in North Carolina.
- Over 4 years of land surveying experience, including work with NCDOT and the City of Charlotte.
- More than 3 years of progressive experience in surveying management, leading teams and overseeing complex projects.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
- Proficient in survey computations and platting using Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and OpenRoads.
- Field experience with Trimble and Leica survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total stations.
- Skilled in survey data management using Trimble or Android-based devices.
- Strong self-motivation and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Earth for mapping and documentation.
- Thorough working knowledge of GPS technologies and their application in land surveying.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
