About the role

The Surveying and Geomatics Business Unit at David Evans and Associates, Inc., is seeking a Survey Party Chief in Spokane, WA. This role involves managing a survey crew or working independently to perform various types of surveys and providing leadership and guidance to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys
  • Operate and maintain survey equipment, including Trimble total stations, Trimble GPS equipment, and Leica electronic levels
  • Collect and process field data; perform complex survey computations using software such as Trimble Business Center and Leica
  • Maintain detailed and accurate field notes, data collection files, and computation sheets
  • Inspect and verify accuracy of deliverables before submission
  • Cook up and lead, and mentor survey crew personnel

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in boundary and construction surveying
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a field crew
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license with the ability to operate vehicles in Washington or Idaho
  • Willingness to travel out of town for up to 10 days at a time

Qualifications

  • LSIT certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency with Trimble instruments preferred
  • Experience with laser scanning technology preferred
  • Familiarity with WSDOT and ITD safety and survey requirements preferred

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with surveying software and equipment

Pay

Potential salary range: $36.00/hr. - $45.00/hr.
