Responsibilities

• Supervise a survey field crew performing control surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, construction stakeout, monitoring, and as-built surveys.
• Mentor, train, and manage assigned staff in the field.
• Operate robotic total stations, electronic data collectors, digital and optical levels, and RTK GPS equipment.
• Perform survey calculations in the field using excellent math skills.
• Interpret design plans and understand as-built drawings and roadway plans.
• Create legible field sketches and detailed field notes.
• Lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions.
• Work evenings/weekends and travel for overnight or extended-stay projects as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Leadership and mentoring skills.
• Positive, can-do attitude and ability to follow instructions.
