Survey Party Chief
or drop it. So location and job type could be minor metadata; we could include in a short
under maybe About the role? But we have About the role section for prose description. Could include location there. But we must not repeat job title as heading. So we can have
About the role
with paragraph describing role and location etc. Then ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
with- ... items. Then Requirements or Qualifications: we have Essential Skills and Additional Skills & Qualifications. Could combine into Requirements section. But we also have Skills section separate. The instruction: Use headings for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we can have Requirements (maybe combine essential and additional). Skills maybe separate list of skills? But we already have essential skills list; could treat as Skills. However we also have Additional Skills & Qualifications. Might be redundant. Better to have Requirements (including education, experience, license) and Skills (technical skills). Let's parse.
Essential Skills list includes:
- 3–5 years of experience as a survey party crew chief or survey party chief (candidates with slightly less experience may be considered based on overall qualifications).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven ability to lead and supervise a survey crew effectively in the field.
- Hands-on experience with land surveying, including construction staking, boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and land development projects.
- Proficiency with survey equipment such as Total Station/Data Collector, level, and various Global Positioning System (GPS) methods.
- Familiarity with commonly used surveying terms, practices, and field procedures.
- Experience with data collection using Total Stations and related survey instruments.
- Ability to survey independently and manage field tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong technical and process-oriented mindset, with a methodical, consistent, and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues in the field.
- Ability to work alone when required while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with crew members, office staff, and clients.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Additional Skills & Qualifications list:
- Experience with boundary survey software and construction stakeout workflows.
- Familiarity with topographic surveys, land survey practices, and land development projects.
- Experience working on transportation-related projects, including DOT and FDOT projects.
- Exposure to commercial, federal, government, industrial, power company, and warehouse project environments.
- Comfort working within structured processes and established standards, with a strong dislike for errors and a commitment to accuracy.
- Steady, helpful, and precise work style, with a preference for organized, structured tasks and clear procedures.
- Ability to maintain composure and focus while working long hours in demanding field conditions.
We could treat Requirements as education, experience, license, background check etc. Skills as technical abilities.
But we also have Work Environment description (schedule, travel, physical demands). That could go under Schedule and maybe Benefits? Actually schedule is given: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, overtime, 50-60 hrs/week, 50% travel, overnight trips, reports to Charleston office daily, etc. Also physical demands. So we can have Schedule section with that info. Benefits section: we have list of benefits. Pay section: pay range $24-$30/hr.
We must not include filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present.
We must remove boilerplate: About Actalent, equal opportunity, accommodation, San Francisco Fair Chance, Massachusetts Lie Detector, Use of AI, etc. Also remove "Job Type & Location" maybe we can incorporate location into About the role paragraph. Also remove "Workplace Type". Also remove "Application Deadline". Also remove "If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:" maybe keep benefits list but remove that sentence? The instruction: preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. So we can keep the sentence as part of benefits section? It's somewhat boilerplate but it's describing benefits eligibility. Might be considered substantive? It's describing eligibility. Could keep but maybe we can incorporate into benefits paragraph. Safer to keep the benefits list and maybe a short intro sentence.
We must output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown.
Let's craft:
