About the role
Alliant Engineering, an employee-owned firm, seeks a Survey Office CAD Technician. This position supports professional land surveyors or the survey department in preparing various survey projects.
Responsibilities
- Provides non-technical routine and basic support for assigned projects using a computer as an aid to drafting.
- Completes detailed drawings from sketches, plans, specifications, and written/verbal instructions using computer-aided drafting programs.
- Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy before submission to Project Surveyor or Project Manager for review.
- Revises or changes drawings, tracings, and/or copies existing drawings and completes simple calculations according to specific instructions.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area allowing access to project information for other team members.
Qualifications
- Two-year technical education in survey technology or equivalent CAD drafting experience.
- Must have platting experience, two or more years preferred.
- Knowledge in Autodesk Civil 3D or higher preferred, but not required.
- Proficient with basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, etc.).
