Survey Cad Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our team in our Columbus office. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing survey drawings, plats, boundary exhibits, topographic maps, and construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing survey drawings and exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Draft boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, easement exhibits, legal descriptions, and construction staking plans.
• Process and incorporate field survey data collected by survey crews, GPS equipment, and total stations.
• Create survey plats, right-of-way exhibits, as-built drawings, and record drawings.
• Review survey notes, sketches, deeds, plats, and other project documentation, and maintain electronic project files and survey databases.
• Coordinate with survey crews and project managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables.
• Perform quality checks on drawings and survey calculations.
• Support project teams in meeting deadlines and client expectations.
• Learn industry standards, survey methodologies, and local jurisdictional requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Degree in survey, civil engineering, or related field is a plus.
• Desire to learn and grow a career within land surveying.

Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Survey CAD experience is advantageous.

Work environment

The role is primarily office-based with occasional site visits. The work environment is supportive, offering one-on-one training with licensed engineers. The company conducts annual performance reviews that may lead to pay increases and bonuses. Internal promotion is prioritized within the survey group. This is a fully onsite position in Columbus, OH.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
